Balkan pop was never the music she wanted to make. Until her roots dug through the concrete and caused Milena Patagônia to stumble. And as the Bernese musician ticks, she processed this artistically and wrote her own Balkan diaspora track. EVO ME is the name of this linguistic hybrid of Serbo-Croatian and Swiss German. This sounds like a culture clash that no one could have expected: a fat trap beat, shimmery synthes and Patagônia's agile voice that sings about the flirt with Belgrade City.

Balkanpop war niemals die Musik, die sie machen wollte. Bis ihre Wurzeln sich durch den Beton bohrten und Milena Patagônia zum stolpern brachten. Und wie die Berner Musikerin tickt, hat sie das künstlerisch verarbeitet und sich einen eigenen Balkan-Diaspora-Track geschrieben. EVO ME heisst dieser sprachliche Hybrid aus Serbokroatisch und Schweizerdeutsch. Das klingt wie ein Kulturclash, den so niemensch erwarten konnte: der Beat federt, die Synthes schimmern und Patagônias wendige Stimme besingt den Flirt mit Belgrad City.
